Your Aggressive Cat is a real little monster. The new cat attacking old cat, the older cat attacking new kitten or the male cat attacking female cat.
And for good reason, it does not hesitate to scratch or bite you as soon as it has the opportunity.
And let’s not talk about the cats attacking people they don’t know … A real wild beast!
But why so much hatred?
Is it because it doesn’t love you?
Not so sure … In reality, there are several reasons for such behavior.
1. The Cat has a difficult past
If you adopted your cat in a shelter, it is possible that he had a particularly difficult past and that it is completely traumatized.
Abandonment, mistreatment, struggle for survival … There are many reasons it can no longer trust humans and become an aggressive cat.
In this case, do not rush it but act with your cat with patience and gentleness.
The goal is to show it over time that it can trust you.
2. The Cat got into bad habits
If, from a very young age, your cat understood that by biting or scratching you it could get everything from you, it is not surprising that it continues.
The important thing is to show your cat that it has no control over you and that you are anything but its slave.
To do this, stop obeying your finger and your eye and satisfy your every wish. You are the one who decides in this house!
3. The Cat is scared
If your cat is afraid of you or a noise it often hears (car noise for example), it is normal for your cat to react with aggression.
Indeed, it feels threatened and simply seeks to defend itself.
In this case, be gentle with your cat, never brutal, and / or try to distract it from it’s fear by using the game or treats.
4. The Cat responds to its instinct
In the wild, the cat was above all a predator, a great follower of hunting.
It can therefore happen that even today its instinct comes to tickle its lips, especially if it does not have enough distractions in its environment and the cat is bored.
If your cat has the annoying tendency to eagerly throw itself on your calves, for no apparent reason, it is because it considers them as prey.
Only one thing to do: stimulate it, but with toys!
5. The Cat was weaned too early
Kittens are expected to spend three months with their mothers.
The latter must teach them during this time to become balanced cats.
For that, she teaches kittens to hunt, to purr but also to control themselves!
Indeed, it is the mother who instills in her kitten that it should not claw and bite without reason, but only to defend itself in the event of an attack.
But if the kitten has been separated too early from its mother, it will not have had time to learn this essential teaching.
An unweaned kitten must therefore be immediately taken care of in terms of education and requires more attention and investment than another kitten.
6. The Cat no longer wants to be petted
Most cats are fond of petting. This gesture gives them a feeling of well-being that makes them purr.
But it can happen that at one point or another, they are tired of being touched.
In this case, they will start tapping their tail and putting their ears back.
The reason ?
This overflow of happiness suddenly turns into a very unpleasant sensation.
If you don’t stop hugging immediately, it will be an aggressive cat and will go on the attack.
7. It hurts
If your cat becomes aggressive with you only when you touch it in a particular place on its body, it may be simply because it is suffering.
In this case, go to the veterinarian!
8. The Cat defends its territory : Cat Attacking Other Cat
Cat Aggression towards other Cats :
The cat is a very territorial animal.
Some even say that cats prefer their territory to their human, by far.
So, if when you invite friends or other animals, your cat turns into a real guard dog, it may be because the cat defends its territory.
Hence the importance of socializing your cat well from an early age by regularly making it meet new people.
